THIS IS NOT JUST A PAUSE
For the last few weeks, Christy and I have been on a bit of a social media “pause.” It’s been a moment where we’ve just felt the Lord say, “Come and be with Me because there is something I want to show you.”
Not just for the sake of clarity or vision, but it felt deeper than that. Holy even. It felt like there was more at stake than what we were seeing. So we logged off social media, deleted the apps from our phones, and have just been seeking the Lord. God’s been doing some amazing things in that space.
But about four days ago, I woke up hearing these words:
“This is not just a pause. This is a hard reset. This is not just a pause. This is a deliverance moment. This is not just a pause. This is a redirect. This is not just a pause. This is a baptism. And when you come up, you will not be the same.”
I felt this so deeply in my spirit, not just for us but for so many others right now. Whether or not you feel like you’re in a pause, you’re in a moment where you recognize that something is going on.
Maybe you are in a bit of a holding pattern. You’re in a space where the Lord is doing something deep, and you can feel it.
And I know it’s not about getting off social media. It’s not about external changes. It’s a moment like when Jesus had to retreat to the mountain to pray.
It’s a moment when you start to realize that everything around you feels loud, chaotic, even catastrophic. You begin to discern that you are at a turning point, and you are feeling, “Hold on. If I don’t stop right now to discern properly what’s going on, I might fall prey to the enemy in some part of my life.”
It’s realizing we’re in a divine moment where the Lord is saying, “Stop. Where you’re heading from this point forward is going to look completely different from what you’ve experienced before. I want to prepare you for that. I want to get you ready.”
To be honest, our trip here in Australia has felt like an attack on my life. I’ve shared this a few times already. But what I know for sure is this: the person who came out the other side of that warfare is a different Nate with a different authority, and an upgraded calling. I believe this is what God is doing for many of us right now.
It’s a death to old things. A death to mindsets, orphan spirits, and things that have lingered around us for too long. It’s God turning the light on in areas of your life where you didn’t even realize you were walking in darkness. Places where things have been clinging to you without your knowledge.
It’s a moment of clarity, where eyes that were once shut are opening. It’s an awakening, where you’ve been asleep in areas where you need to be fully alive. It’s God dealing with everything that’s been trying to keep you from stepping into the greater anointing He’s placed on your life.
You’ve been collecting things. You’ve been picking up baggage. You’ve been burning out, doing what you thought was Kingdom work. But in reality, it’s been religion. Repackaged and repurposed to look like destiny. And it’s wearing you thin.
You are not anointed for that which is not from Him. You’re at this point now because God is saying, “If you don’t do a hard reset, you will burn out. You will crash, and you may not recover.”
This is not just a pause. This is a regrouping. It’s the Lord wanting to release a new upgrade into your life.
Let me speak personally to help you see what I mean. In my life, this pause feels like a new season of leading my family into a greater future. We’ve been pioneering for many years. We’ve been helping other ministries for many years. But now I believe the Lord is drawing something deeper out of me. A greater father. A greater husband. A giant killer I haven’t even discovered yet. A new anointing to tear down principalities and powers. Just to name a few.
This is an upgrade moment. A threshold moment. A moment where the Lord is saying, “This is not just a pause. This is where you emerge from the waters with a fresh wind, a fresh anointing, and finally free from the things that have been holding you down.”
Even as I write this, I feel the weight of what people are going through. Grief. Deep trauma. People walking through dark and painful situations in their marriages, families, and finances.
There has been robbery. Intense robbery.
I saw a vision of people lying down, saying, “God, I don’t have the strength. I just want to sleep.” But the Lord says, “This is not a moment to sleep. You’ve been running on your own strength. Your flesh has been steering the ship. But now, My Spirit is coming upon you.”
“I have anointed you,” says the Lord, “and you will walk out of this season full of the Spirit of the Lord, endued with power after what you have known to be your deepest and darkest wilderness season.”
This will be the moment when the Lord causes you to recover all. The robbery will end. The Lord is restoring everything the locusts have eaten.
But let me say this - You can’t keep being on autopilot. You can’t keep going around the same mountain. You can’t just keep pushing through, hustling, and driving yourself into a wall.
This is the moment to pause, to rest, to refresh. To stop allowing the pull of the masses, the expectations of others, and the pressure to keep you on a path toward burnout and breakdown.
This is not your breakdown moment. This is the moment the Lord is refurbishing you and getting you ready for something fresh, something you’ve never even seen before.
Lean in, people of God. This is so much deeper than you think. This process you’re in right now is saving your life.
It’s delivering you. It’s changing your legacy.
The Lord is throwing you a lifeline and pulling you up higher, and it’s time.
Lastly, I keep feeling that it is also the man from Macedonia moment, where there are some things the Lord is saving you from that could shipwreck you.
This is where God shuts certain doors you cannot open right now. So pay attention to what there is no grace on right now and recognise where grace does rest.
