THIS IS THE BATTLE ALL MEN ARE IN AND WHY…
I have been contacted by so many men in the last 18 months saying the same thing - I am going through the deepest internal battle of my life, and I don’t know why.
And I’ll tell you why…
Men, God is leveling us up and waking us up because the real you is needed.
We can feel it - something has shifted in the last 18 months. God is breaking the slumber and the cages men have been in. Cycles. Patterns. Apathy. Powerlessness. Defeat. And failure.
It’s a “deep calling out to deep” moment that feels like the most painful heart surgery. It’s unravelling us in a good way.
He is confronting men in areas where there has been subtle apathy or where we have ignored discernment or failed to guard and protect as we should have.
We can feel it on all fronts - the Father is pulling our socks up, putting on our war boots, and shaking off the weariness and defeat of past seasons.
And it’s not been a gentle wake-up process, but rather like an alarm clock blaring for the sake of families, marriages, the next generation, and LEGACY.
We haven’t been manning our posts as we should have.
We have let women take the brunt of spiritual warfare, and then we have run into our insecurities as a shield.
We haven’t been sharp like the watchmen we are meant to be.
We have been on autopilot, doing our duties, but absent, disengaged, and allowing little foxes to steal slowly from our gardens.
We haven’t been standing on the frontlines waving our swords in the air to let the enemy know - NOT ON OUR WATCH!
We have been hiding instead of leading the charge on this take-back mission for the family, for marriages, and for our children.
But there is a mass awakening happening and a deep rebranding in the hearts of those who have fallen in shame and grief.
God is waking up dead men and turning them into crusaders before the return of Jesus.
I see them standing to their feet, dusting off the words of doubt and the trauma of their youth that have kept them stuck, and finding their FIGHT again.
We are in a moment right now where God is looking for a church who will build what is pure and HEALTHY.
The next generation needs to see this. They are longing for what’s healthy in a time that all they see is dysfunction and what has failed.
And they need to see men - FATHERS who will model healthy identity and will lead the charge to PROTECT their families and the vulnerable, not disengage or worse…be predators themselves.
I keep thinking of the movie Taken, where Liam Neeson goes after his daughter’s captors, as if there is nothing more important than saving her before it’s too late.
We need that back. We need men who will step into this holy charge to take back what the enemy has been stealing for so long.
And breaking the generational cycles and dysfunctions they inherited. It’s held you for too long, and NOW it’s being purged from your life, and the yoke is finally breaking.
This is the changing of the guard, men. Will you step up and lead with us?
What this means practically…
We need men using their voices - as solutionists, not just retelling the news. Men, what is God saying and doing? How can we partner with it?
We need men praying. 80 percent of our prayer teams and even subscribers are women, not men. Men, prayer isn’t a female role; it’s for all of us, and your prayers are mighty! Join us in praying and fasting.
We need men taking back their homes and establishing an altar. Bringing back prayer and worship as a norm in the home and involving our kids.
Ask the Lord to make you come alive again. Don’t do life on autopilot. Deal with what is keeping you robotic. Get healed from past trauma and pain so you can find yourself again.
Lead with your wife. Your spouse can’t lead for you or without you. You lead, and she leads with you. The resentment and frustration in your relationship generally can be traced back to you abdicating your role and leaving her to lead. Fix that, and she will come alongside you better, and the enemy won’t have any doors to come in.
Let the war against children and the family become deeply personal to you and painful so you can no longer just watch from the sidelines.
Get involved in your region and nation. Find something that you are passionate to see God move in. Abortion. Sex trafficking. Raising up the next generation in identity.
Be a father and warrior in whatever you do. But let the overflow from your home pour out to the nations.
