THE ENEMY HAS A CONTRACT OUT ON YOU
The spirit of Saul always puts a hit out on a David.
That's the pattern. And I want to talk about it because I believe it's what's happening to many right now.
Years ago, Christy and I started noticing something. We'd step out for the Lord, opposition would come, we'd deal with it, and then it would pop up again through a completely different person. Same spirit, different face. We called it the Agent Smith Syndrome from the Matrix.
You put out one fire, the enemy sends the same spirit back through another avenue. Over and over again.
Have you noticed this pattern?
But I want to speak into something far more sinister than just irritating opposition, because what I'm seeing in this season isn't just the usual assignment. This isn't just witchcraft sent to swirl you or distract you. This is something far more serious than that.
Last year I was lying in a hotel room having lost my voice, and feeling my body losing function when these words came in my spirit: “This isn't just an attack. This is a contract."
You see, there's a difference. And I believe right now, because of the weight and gravity of what you are about to birth and step into, there's been a contract out against your life.
You've felt it. The warfare has increased, and you've been trying to discern it. This doesn't feel like little games anymore. This feels like the enemy is trying to completely decimate you.
There are two moments in scripture that set the precedent for this.
Haman and Esther. Haman sought to legalize a plot to bring down Mordecai and the entire Jewish people. A contract, dressed up as a law. And then Daniel, when the administrators saw him praying at his window, built a legal trap around it. What looked like protection was a demonic plot.
And I believe right now, the movers, the shakers, the pioneers, the forerunners, the Davids called to usher in the new are all experiencing an unusually high level of attack in these threshold birthing seasons.
This is not just an assignment against you. This is a hit.
But here's how you deal with a hit. You tear up the contract. How?
Jesus said, "The enemy has nothing in common with me." (John 14:30) This is where we keep our hearts right. We rebuke, we renounce, but we don't play dirty back. We let God be the vindicator. No commonality between you and the enemy. That's how you tear up the contract.
And the second way is through the Blood of the Lamb because Jesus’ blood speaks a better word. (Hebrews 12:24)
Right now you're overwhelmed. Right now, you're at the breaking point. Right now, it feels like these things aren't just testing you; they're trying to annihilate you completely. You can feel it on every side as you wake up every day. The chatter, the pressure, the circumstances, and the bad reports are trying to crush you bit by bit.
I want you to know, God is your protector. He is your vindicator. Fight this week in the secret place. Fight through the Word of God. Fight on your knees in prayer.
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." - Psalms 34:19
Tear down every imagination. Don't let it live in your head. Because as you fight, God is bringing these plots and plans to nothing. And that curse that's been sent against you?
Like a fluttering sparrow or darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest. - Proverbs 26:2
