I HEARD THE LORD SAY, “WHY ARE YOU ACCEPTING A CURSE?”
These were the exact words the Lord said to me a few months ago.
Lying in a hotel room in Melbourne, Australia, with loss of motor function to my mouth and face, and my body, buzzing and numb. It felt like an arrow had been shot through my throat and had sent my body and soul into a state of shock.
I can’t explain to you the depths of fear and dread that consumed me those few days except that I felt even my spiritual strength and fight were fading, and the temptation to just give up.
The fog was real. I couldn’t shake the heaviness and was racking my brain to understand and discern what had caused this.
But the Holy Spirit wasn’t letting up on me, and my prayer warrior wife, knowing what was at stake and also who I really am, said, “I know you can’t speak or move properly, BUT YOU BETTER WORSHIP your way out of this!”
She understood this was spiritual, especially after six doctors left confused.
What did I do? What principality did I tick off?
Then the Lord said it again, “Why are you accepting a curse?”
“What curse?” I replied…
You see, it had felt like a blur, and without getting into unnecessary details, yes, I had majorly opposed something spiritually that was deep-seated in the region we had just spoken in, and there was some lack of prayer support going into that event, but what was the entry point? What was the open door?
Then a friend who knew nothing wrote to me and said, “Nate, I see a harpoon through your throat. PULL IT OUT!”
Then it all became clear… You see, only a few days earlier, AFTER I had contested this spiritual environment, I had lost my voice, BUT THAT WAS ALL…
But it wasn’t until something else took place that I began to deteriorate.
What was it you may be asking? Are you ready for it?
I was given a few false prophetic words that, with my guard down and being vulnerable from warfare…I ACCEPTED.
I foolishly OPENED UP THE DOOR and LET THE CURSE LAND.
Then everything started unravelling.
You see, that’s the tactic of the enemy, to HIT YOU when your guard is down…OUCH…SNEAKY.
And that’s what has happened to many in this season. The warfare has been so intense that we have let our guards down, and many Trojan horses have been let in, in our hour of brokenness and vulnerability, which has opened up the floodgates of chaos and robbery of demonic proportions.
That’s what you have been dealing with.
It’s not just the swirl and fog that is the sign of this. It’s that everything in your life seems to fall apart.
Endless fires and chaos, confusion, financial robbery, health robbery, and family robbery.
Your voice and purpose even feel tainted.
Think for a moment about Elijah, who was cursed by Jezebel in 1 Kings 19:2:
“So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, ‘May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.’”
[“One of them…” refering to the prophets of Baal that God destroyed through Elijah earlier in the text].
These words:
⁃ Sent Elijah into hiding
⁃ Had him wanting to be dead
⁃ Made him feel alone and isolated in his situation
⁃ Made him forget who he was and what God’s voice sounded like
Sound familiar? Have you accepted lies and curses affecting your health, finances, marriage, and ministry?
Here is a prophetic word over you today…
YOU CAN’T BE CURSED SO DON’T LET IT IN!
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.’” - Galatians 3:13
The only override of this is FREE WILL. You have the promise above, BUT if we open the door, we can let them in.
It’s a violation of the Blood of Jesus and our covenant with God, but we do get to choose what affects us, and far too many Christians are right now SAVED, but in agreement with LIES, that have brought about a CURSE.
So, let’s get down to business. It's time to break the curses you have come into agreement with, like I did.
You ready?
You can apply this to false prophetic words, to lies you have believed, or to anything you have not realized until now that has placed you in bondage.
Pray with me:
Jesus, I thank You that on the cross You became a curse for me, that I might receive new life and freedom in You, according to Galatians 3:13. I declare that every curse against me has been broken by Your Blood.
Right now, I repent for any sin, unbelief, and/or agreement I made that opened the door to the enemy. I renounce every lie, every false prophetic word, and every curse I have accepted, knowingly or unknowingly. I break their power over my life and command every demonic spirit attached to them to leave me now, in Jesus’ name.
I shut every door I opened through fear, fatigue, offense, or deception. I place the Blood of Jesus over those doors, and I declare they are sealed by Your covenant. No weapon formed against me will prosper, and no word spoken against me will stand.
I release forgiveness to every person who has spoken or acted against me, and I release myself from their words. I choose to bless and not curse. I break all soul ties, emotional attachments, and spiritual connections that are not of You.
Now, Holy Spirit, I invite You to fill every place that was once occupied by the enemy. Fill me with Your peace, Your truth, and Your power. Let Your blessing replace every curse, and let Your voice be the only one that defines my life. Thank you, Jesus, that I am covered, and I am sealed by Your Blood and not under the lies and assignments of the enemy in, Jesus’ name!
