GOD IS BRINGING YOU CLOSURE.
Watch the video of this word HERE…
Who has been in a season so hot it feels like the temperature is turned all the way up, where everything is happening at once and you keep asking, why is this season so intense? I want to tell you what it is. God is bringing you closure…
Zechariah 2:5 says, "And I myself will be a wall of fire around it, declares the Lord, and I'll be its glory within."
The Lord is your wall of fire right now. He is the fire around you.
The very thing you have been fearing is actually the Lord's protection. Think of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. It looked like they were being cast into the fire, but there was a fourth man in the fire with them. Sometimes these seasons don't make sense. You think, God, are you trying to kill me? Are you trying to birth me? Are you trying to resurrect me?
God is bringing everything to a head. We're at a final pressing, pushing moment, breaking through ceilings and things the enemy has been trying to hold over you for decades… maybe your whole life, maybe even generationally. The Lord is confronting those things right now.
THE WORD INSIDE YOU IS YOUR WEAPON
The Lord is looking for those who will carry His word in this season. He's saying, “where are My pure ones that will release My word from My heart, unedited, straight from My heart?”
The word of the Lord inside you is your weapon. Do you know that? The word inside you is the breakthrough you've been praying for. Get back your song.
The Lord is saying, “get back that prophetic flow.” The enemy has been trying to stop up your flow. Put your hand on your belly and say, Holy Spirit, unstop my flow. Let rivers of living water gush forth now, in Jesus' mighty name.
A few days ago I was praying, and the Lord spoke two things that preface this whole word - “Get ready for the sword of the Lord,” and “I am the God of closure.”
Think about what those two mean together. The sword of the Lord brings closure. The sword of the Lord is what separates you. That is what we are heading into in this season.
THE OLD WINESKIN IS BREATHING ITS LAST
I've been noticing something in the body of Christ right now. Greater divisions, an increase of people battling and fighting each other, a sense of, what is going on in the church? These words came to me: “This is the old wineskin breathing its last. The old wineskin barks loudest as it leaves.”
It's like any demonic spirit that has had a long-standing hold on somebody. Just before it leaves, it barks loud. I believe the religious, pharisaical institution is breathing its last right now, because God is raising up a new breed, a pure and spotless bride. I'm not talking about people. I'm talking about a religious spirit that has had a hold on the church, and it is trying to change form and shape.
Personally, what that looks like is your own stuff coming to the surface. Everything is happening at once. There's so much drama right now. But look at it for what it is: God is delivering you. It's the God of closure.
WHAT THE SWORD OF THE LORD IS
This is a season of separation and division. Hebrews 4:12 says, “the word of the Lord is living, active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit.” You might think, that can't be the Lord, He's not a God of division. But He will separate to bring wholeness, completeness, and purity. He is setting the boundary lines clear in this season, showing what is Him and what is not, so you can come into wholeness and unity in the body of Christ.
Think about the wheat and the tares in Matthew 13. They grew up together, and only in the later years could you see the difference between the two. That's happening right now. Everything looks the same until a certain moment, a closure season, a harvest season.
This is the sword of the Lord. It's the sickle of the Lord. He cuts across the field and reveals what is fruit and what is not, because that's what the sickle does. It separates. Here is what the sword of the Lord is doing in your life right now:
It comes as reinforcements. You've been battling on your own, in your own strength, weary, and the God of angel armies, the King of glory, strong and mighty in battle, is now coming on your behalf. And He's making you sharp. That discernment you've been asking for, maybe you're already feeling it come.
It cuts off access. Every witch and warlock, every person the enemy sent to poison you, derail you, and hold you back from the birthing, the sword cuts their access off. It deals with the familiar spirits and the monitoring spirits that have been tracking you. And it stands between you and the devourer, the one who comes to stop you birthing and stop you seeing fruit, reversing that claim in the spirit.
It makes a stand against the accuser. We're still in the "court is in session" moment, and the sword is where the justice of the Lord stands against the slanderer and the opposition that's been against you. Like Daniel 10, the angel of the Lord will stand and fight for the very things you've been contending for. You've been praying a long time and thought nothing shifted, but the Lord says, “since the very first moment you prayed, I heard you.” God is sending reinforcements.
And it sets you apart. He surrounds you with a wall of fire and separates you from people and from the things of this world for a season, to purify and cleanse you from everything that has been robbing you. The sword of the Lord is His favor. It is the hand of the Lord on your life.
The case is closed. Every case against you is closed in Jesus' mighty name.
Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? –Romans 8:33-34
The case is closed. The accusations against you in the spirit are being dismissed. The sword of the Lord has come over your life. God is shutting every door and delivering you from every mess. He is closing out the seasons, situations, and entanglements that have had you bound.
But while God is closing doors, what is the enemy's assignment against you? To open new ones. Not just new doors, but new cases against you, sending people who would sabotage you and plant seeds in that exact moment.
When the Lord is closing doors, sometimes you think it's the enemy. You go looking for something to fill that void, that empty space. You're used to something filling it and you don't know what's going on. Don't let this be the moment you let in something worse than what God is delivering you from.
People will show up at the exact right moment. Be careful who you let in. God is setting you apart for a reason. It doesn't mean He's punishing you. God is going to bring you the right people. The enemy is going to send you the wrong people. Watch your text messages, who's messaging you, trying to get access to you, trying to speak into your life and pull information from you. This is very important right now while God is cleaning out your house and getting you ready for what is next.
WHAT A CLOSURE SEASON LOOKS LIKE
It's where the things you've been praying breakthrough for suddenly come to a head. Everything comes to the surface at once. It looks like chaos, but it's actually closure.
It looks like relationships getting redefined. Think of Joseph in the prison. There were two people, one who was reinstated and came into the palace, and one who did not. There will be people who can't come with you into this next season. (Genesis 40)
It looks like old cycles that have been repeating finally breaking. The thing that keeps coming back around breaks, once and for all.
It looks like grief. For some of you, it feels like letting go of a child, that level of grief. You've birthed something, you've stewarded something well, and the Lord is asking you to let go of it. If that's you, say, Lord, I surrender to this, but help my heart right now.
It's a lot of surrender, and for some people, deep pain. It's where God shuts things that don't make sense to your human mind.
It also looks like new opportunities, fresh starts, and the fresh word of the Lord. God begins to pour fresh vision into your heart, and it doesn't make sense because you're in the tension of the old things leaving and the new coming in. That's why you need discernment. Remember this: closure always precedes commissioning. Closure always precedes God launching you into something new.
It can look like an identity crisis, emotions all over the place, feeling like you're falling apart. That's God bringing closure and birthing something in you. You look and feel naked for a while because the old rag is coming off and the new mantle is coming on.
In Hebrews 12:2, the word finisher is teleiōtēs, the completer, the perfecter, the one who carries it all the way to the finish line. Its root is telos, the end, the goal, the intended completion. This is a completion season, and it's paired with archēgos, the author, the founder, the one who goes first. He is both. The hand that started it is the hand that finishes it. He doesn't hand it off.
It's the same root as tetelestai, "it is finished," in John 19:30. Paid in full. The one who started it is now the one ending it. The end of a chapter. That's what the Lord is saying over you right now- “Closure. Paid in full.”
“And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.” –Isaiah 22:22
What He closes, no man reopens. The door He shut on that season stays shut. These are the keys of the kingdom, where God opens doors of destiny, promise, and legacy for you. The enemy has been warring against you for the very doors you're about to step into. The closure of God is making sure you don't stay in an old place when there's a new anointing, a new capacity, and a new vision He's bringing.
“…He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.” –Philippians 1:6
The Greek is epiteleō, the same telos root as the Finisher. He began, and He will complete. It ties straight back to Hebrews 12:2. Author and Finisher, confirmed. There are people watching this with grief because there's been no completion, no finality to the promise given. God is going to bring finality right now, in Jesus' mighty name.
“God is not a man that He should lie. Has He said, and will He not do it? Has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” – Numbers 23:19
If He said it, it's already as good as done. That's the Greek thread: telos to teleiōtēs to epiteleō to tetelestai. One root. The end He intended. Author and Finisher. The God of closure.
THE YEAR OF THE SWORD: 5787
Now watch what the Lord is doing with the timing. On September 11, 9/11, we enter the new Jewish year 5787. I don't always dive into the Hebraic years, but when the Lord highlights one to me, I will, and He highlighted this one.
We read it as the number 5787, but that's not how it's read in Hebrew. Hebrew adds letter values, it doesn't stack digits. Five thousand is the millennium, which is dropped in common use. Then, 787 breaks down as 400, 300, 80, and 7. The year is spelled Tav-Shin-Pe-Zayin.
400 is Tav, the seal, the sign, the mark, the covenant. It's the final letter of the alphabet - Endings. Completion. It is finished.
300 is Shin, fire, the consuming flame - El Shaddai. The presence that burns.
80 is Pe, the mouth, the utterance, the word going forth, the decree.
7 is Zayin, the sword, the weapon. And seven is the number of completion, rest, and covenant.
Read the letters together as a sentence: the seal, the fire, the mouth, the sword. A sealed word, set on fire, coming out of the mouth, as a sword. That's the anatomy of how God finishes a thing.
The last time the Lord highlighted a Hebrew year to me was the COVID season, 5780, the year 2020. That year landed on Pe, the mouth. The decade opened with the word going forth, and it was interesting how the prophets came under fire in that season and there was a real lack of the word of the Lord. What began in 2020 is being finalized now. 5787 lands on Zayin, the sword. Pe to Zayin. Mouth to sword. What He said at the top of the decade, He enforces at the seven. Seven is completion, and it arrives on the sword. The fight that started with a word closes with a blade. This is the year of the sword of the Lord in the mouths of the church.
A COMMISSIONING MOMENT
Here's the thing you didn't see coming: God isn't just closing doors and fighting for you. He is putting His sword in your hands. This is a commissioning moment.
God has been birthing you in a cocoon of sorts, a pressure cooker, breaking so many things off the body of Christ. It looks like everything is going crazy and haywire, but I want to propose to you it's actually a birthing moment. It's a completion, a finality, and a birthing all at once, and only you can decide what it will be.
Don't let the enemy rob you into taking the bait with the ishmaels around you. Don't let bitterness take root to the point that you stop seeing hope, that you put down the sword and pick up rocks and stones to throw at your brothers and sisters. That's the counterfeit. God wants to put His sword back in your hand and in your mouth. Don't do an Esau and sell your birthright because it's too hard. You've been through seven years of wilderness and fire, seven years of refinery, walking through the dark night of the soul. Don't forfeit it now.
God is going to recommission you. He's going to put His sword in your hand and in your mouth. The Lord is looking for a people who will simply speak the word of the Lord in this hour. The pure word of the Lord is getting more unpopular every day to speak. Holding to righteousness is getting more unpopular every day. But this is a commissioning moment.
This is a governmental moment. You're going to go from a season where you've been in the dust in the corner, broken down, confused in your calling, frustrated, hurting, and bitter, and the Lord is going to resurrect you in a moment. He's going to put His sword in your mouth and in your hand, and you're going to run with fire again.
GET BACK YOUR FIGHT
If there's been a grief around you in this season, a sense of injustice because you've been battered, the enemy doesn't want you to step into this. Of course he's going to battle you for your calling. But the Lord is reinstating you. He's putting a fresh fire upon you. We're entering the days when you get back your fight, that bubbling forth, that Nabi flow, those rivers of living water flowing out of you again.
There are people watching this with injustices circling around them this week, battles, situations, warfare, and you're asking, God, can you fight? He's going to fight for you. But that's not the end of it. He doesn't just want to fight for you. He wants to put the sword in your hand and in your mouth.
PROPHESY THIS OVER YOURSELF…
I'm breaking out. I'm breaking out. God, I'm breaking out. This is the season I'm going to see the sword of the Lord. I'm going to see the reinforcements of heaven.
God, you're a God of closure. You shut every single thing the enemy tried to keep open, and you open doors that no man and no devil can close. You're bringing me into a new season, a fresh anointing and a new flow. A new flow is coming, in Jesus' name.
God, bring closure to every area of my life that's been open and accessible to the enemy. Now put a new sword in my mouth and in my hands. Give me back my fight.
Lord, I know you can stand me to my feet again. Like Ezekiel and the valley of dry bones, breathe the winds of your Spirit upon me. Stand me to my feet and breathe life on me again in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
