ARE YOU FACING THESE BATTLES IN THE CROSSOVER?

If you've been following my September crossover words, here are FIVE battle zones to watch for this month and beyond...

THE MIND GAME

The first war is discouragement, but it's so much more than that. It's the MENTAL game. It's where your insecurities get triggered and you doubt yourself. The battle is at an all-time high, trying to make you question whether God even called you to crossover.

And it feels that way because you're EMPTYING out everything before the Lord. When your hands are empty, you don't feel qualified. Good. You're not qualified for this in your own strength. God doesn't want you confident in your abilities. He wants you confident in HIS.

The enemy only has two moves: 1) Get you STUCK, or 2) get you to RUN BACK to what's familiar. Add to that the fear of man, which is intense right now. Years ago when we left an environment, I spent eight months feeling like a rebel while I got religion out of my system. Maybe that's you… Will you trust the Lord, or run back?

DRAMA & BUSY

The crossover will be the NOISIEST time of your life. Fires and problems will erupt around you. Relational dramas will flare– slander, opposition, misrepresentation of your character, people who just don't understand what God is doing in you. We've had to turn things down these past two months and people didn't understand why. Because God said “no.”

There will be witchcraft, mudslinging, and other people's messes trying to pull you in. Will you be distracted, or will you go the distance?

Here's the big one hiding inside the drama: BUSY. The enemy wants you busy instead of strategic. We as the church are the busiest people you've ever seen, and busy does not equal holy. Busy is a Martha move. God is turning the Martha church back into a MARY. Especially heading into September, October, November, December, opportunities will come dressed in flattery and busyness. Filter EVERYTHING through the secret place. What am I meant to do? What am I not?

OBEDIENCE IN THE UNFAMILIAR

David had to go and do the unfamiliar thing. We're shifting out of a SAUL church– a system, a mindset, a religious and soulish spirit that has been over the institution for a long time. God is bringing David back.

A while ago in a prophetic moment, I said we're in a season of HIGH TREASON. It's high treason to be a David, anointed by God to be king, when there's already a Saul on the throne. It's high treason to be a David when the institution has already elected its king. But God is quietly removing His grace and glory from the soulish institution and placing it on David.

You and I are living in the days of high treason. Driving home one night the Lord asked me, "Are you okay to be in this season?" Lord, I've been enlisted in this for 20 years.

But hear this, because it's everything: this is not against people.

Here's what I wrote:

"David lived in the difficult tension that he was obedient to the high treason call of God on his life while never dishonoring or lifting a hand against Saul. The tension of this hour is the same. How do you follow the Lord when it's against the grain, fully obedient to that call, while simultaneously not playing by the enemy's playbook? Follow the Spirit, but choose HONOR, and remember who the real enemy is."

When we left that church years ago, most people said we were foolish. I decided that no matter how they treated me, I would honor them. I would not repay evil for evil. And the Lord said, “HONOR IS CURRENCY IN TRANSITION.” It doesn't mean they get off scot-free or that you tolerate what was done. It means you TRUST God to deal with it while you keep your heart clean. David never lifted his hand against Saul. Dishonor is a false calling in the crossover, and it will DELAY your crossover.

ALIGNMENTS

The war in this season is on your alignments, and so is the test. The enemy pressure-tests how he can get to you, and the easiest access point is your WEAK alignments– people carrying their own woundings that he can trigger to reach you.

Access and proximity are everything right now. Be careful who you confide in. Some of the alignments you carried before your crossover cannot come with you beyond it. Not because something is wrong with them, but because they're not up to standard for where God is taking you. He'll bring you new people who can handle the pressure, who are in their own crossover.

At the beginning of September, God gave Christy and I dream after dream, and the main one was ALIGNMENT. Because your alignments determine your vision. Get the alignments wrong and your vision goes off track. Holy Spirit, show us the cycles. Give us discernment about who we partner with, what we share, and whose battles we're fighting that were never ours.

THE SECRET PLACE

This is the GREATEST war, because this is the whole purpose of the crossover... RE-CONSECRATION with the Lord. The greatest prize of this season is your intimacy with God, which is exactly why the greatest war is against it.

The strategy is to get you so cluttered, flustered, busy and drama-fied that you can't hear His voice. Even when you show up, you're so bombarded and heavy-laden that you don't receive the blueprints and secrets He gives to His friends. You're moving out of tradition and discipline, but not from a heart place.

And for those of you heavily on social media... it can be a great tool, but it can also be an idol and a place of great witchcraft. We are NOT called to be influencers. We're called to carry the anointing into those places with authority. You are meant to be OVER Babylon; Babylon is not over you. The algorithm doesn't own you. If you go into that space out of anything other than what God called you to, you'll attract the witchcraft, and it will pull you right out of your crossover.

PRAY WITH ME...

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for everyone in this crossover. Break the mind battles now. I speak to the doubt and the lying voices saying they're not called, not qualified, not anointed. The odds are NOT stacked against you, because greater is He that's in you than he that's in the world. You have not missed your timing.

Lord, fortify every weak place in their identity by Your word. Lead them into unfamiliar territory with confidence in the Spirit, not in themselves. I silence the drama, the slander, the chatter, and the busy trap in Jesus' name. I break and cut off the witchcraft and the messes the enemy is using to pull them in.

Above all, keep their hearts positioned before You... clean and surrendered, free of bitterness and pain. For the Davids who've been around Sauls for a long time, keep them from dishonor. Let them shut the door and trust You with the vindication. And give us wisdom with our alignments. Give us dreams. Show us the people and the proximity, and recalibrate our lives for this new chapter.
