3 ATTACKS MANY ARE UNDER RIGHT NOW
We’re in a moment right now that is crucial that we understand, spiritually, the weightiness of what we’re carrying, what God is birthing through us, and the assignment of the enemy to try to rob it.
I believe we’re in a moment where the Church is crossing over into a new era and a new season, and we are actually heavily pregnant. In Romans 8:22, it speaks about the whole earth groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. You may not feel it right now, but you are not barren. You are heavily pregnant with something that God has been preparing in you for a really long time.
It’s in moments like this that we need to be very careful and aware of what we’re allowing in and what we’re allowing to speak into us, so that we aren’t robbed just before we give birth. The grief and the hope deferred that many people have been feeling is because this has been delayed for so long. Why? It’s because God has been wanting you to give birth in the right environment, the right season, with the right circle, every dynamic that would be conducive to properly birth and nurture what He’s put in you for so long.
But I want you to be aware of an assignment that the Lord has been showing me over and over and over that is trying to come against the Body of Christ right now, and I am going to try my best to break this down well…
THE THREE STAGES OF ATTACK
I had a dream where I saw a heavily pregnant woman on the floor in agony because she was having contractions, but she didn’t know she was having contractions. She thought something was wrong.
I felt like this woman represents so many people right now who don’t even realize that what they’re experiencing is a contraction. What you’re experiencing, the pain you’re experiencing, is contractions. It’s the growing pains. It’s your baby getting ready to be birthed. But the enemy has been trying to lie to you, to make you feel like it’s something else, like something is wrong, asking, “Why are all these things falling apart? Why is this so difficult right now?” He’s gotten your eyes off hope for so long that you don’t even know that you’re pregnant.
In this dream, there was a vulture standing off to the side, watching this woman. It felt like it had been watching for a long time, just sitting there. Its main assignment was to watch. Then suddenly, in the moment of deepest grief, the vulture descended and got close to the woman. It didn’t do anything at first, but it was now in her space. It was almost acting non-predatory. There was a sense of it trying to say it was safe, but it wasn’t. Then the third thing I saw was the vulture beginning to let out a loud shriek, over and over and over, until the woman got up and walked away as if there was no longer any baby there, which grieved me in the dream.
This dream really puzzled me. What did I just witness? What does this represent? I realized it represented three stages of a calculated spiritual assignment against God’s people in a time when He wants them to step into the new and birth what He’s given them.
The first stage of the vulture is the watching, the surveilancing, the monitoring. This is that monitoring attribute of demonic activity that assembles around you for a long time, not to strike yet, but to study you, your patterns, your weaknesses, your triggers, to plan and strategize an assault for phase two. When it knows the right moment of weakness because it has studied you for so long, it then moves in.
The second stage is when the vulture comes into the familiar-spirit stage. The enemy will engage people around you, normally the ones who’ve been tasked to watch you. Then they engage. They text you. They email you. They use old stories, memories, and familiarity. They flatter you to get on the inside, to get into the birthing suite, to get into the place where they can engage your life. They act safe, but they’re not. They’re not there for your benefit; they’re there to take you out. And if our guard is down, we let them in. When they’re in, the fences break, and the enemy gains access at a very critical moment of our lives.
The third stage was the vulture letting out a shriek. It’s almost like a victory cry of the enemy, but what it really is is a distraction. It’s meant to pull you away from your moment of birth. This is where the enemy speaks doubt and fear and prophesies barrenness over you. It comes to discourage you from your calling. It can even come in the form of circumstances and fires around you, anything to get your focus off what you’re birthing.
This is what I believe is a calculated assignment of the enemy right now for so many people. And unfortunately, yes, it’s coming through people, and social media, and anything that will break down your defenses and steal your focus.
I feel like the Lord is saying, “Beware of this assignment. Be aware of what the enemy is trying to do.” And I want to leave you with hope, because what I keep seeing in this season is the Lord giving back the keys of authority to His people.
YOU WILL BIRTH IT THIS TIME.
For those who have had stillbirths in other seasons or have felt barren for so long, I hear the Lord saying, “No. I’ve opened your eyes so that you will give birth this time. I’ve opened your eyes to this assignment so you will not pass up this moment.” This is the season where you wise up to the plans of the enemy. You step into a whole new realm of spiritual intelligence. You come up higher, and you finally birth.
Right now, God is giving you the wisdom and the intel to know how to deal with the situations around you. But I want to give you one key: don’t coddle it in this season. Don’t appease it. Don’t engage with it.
It’s so easy, when you see a vulture, to want to engage. But your job is to birth. Your job is to focus on what God is doing. Your job is to stay focused on Him. Don’t cast your pearls in this season. Be wise with your circle. Be careful who you’re texting, messaging, and emailing. Don’t share the depths of your dreaming with the Lord publicly.
Be careful what you allow your eyes and ears to take in. All of these things matter. But know this: you are pregnant. You’re about to give birth, and you better protect the baby, because this time it’s coming, in Jesus’ name.
Lastly, I’ve been asking the Lord, “What is this spiritual assignment? What is the spiritual entity we’re battling in this specific situation?” And I keep hearing the Lord speak to me about Athaliah. Athaliah was Jezebel’s daughter. Jezebel was cast down by Jehu, thrown from the window by the eunuchs (2 Kings 9:30–37) but even though Jezebel was removed, nothing really changed in the land. False idol worship continued. Evil continued. Sacrifices to Molech continued. Athaliah, in many ways, was nastier than her mother. And she had a very specific assignment - to kill the heirs of the kingdom. Scripture tells us in 2 Kings 11:1 that when Athaliah saw her son was dead, she rose up and destroyed all the royal heirs.
Do you see it now? Her assignment was to come after the seed. I believe we’re seeing this even in society right now, how the enemy has been after our children. But this also speaks to our seed, the things we are meant to give birth to. I believe this vile assignment, rooted in Jezebel but with a far nastier tongue, has come to kill your offspring, to kill what you’re meant to birth.
But what was the solution? Joash was hidden in the house of the Lord, and Athaliah was ultimately executed at the command of Jehoiada (2 Kings 11:16). The key in this season is the secret place. You’re going to slay Athaliah in the secret place. You’re going to take authority over that demonic spirit in the presence of God, not in your own strength, but in intimacy with Him. In the secret place, you gain superiority over that spirit. You say, “No, you will not take my seed. Not this time.”
So I encourage you to step into proclamation, declaration, and prophecy. Begin to speak it out. Prophesy that you will give birth in this season, in Jesus’ name.
So let’s make this practical. Are you experiencing any of these attacks?
THE WATCHING
You can feel the enemy watching in, people surveilling you, talking about you, and trying to gain information about you. It comes in the form of dreams, even a constant anxiety, or a sense that you are being targeted.
THE FAMILIARITY
Familiar spirits will use a moment of weakness or flattery to come into the room as a trusted confidant, birthing partner, or safety, but they are far from it. Under the guise of protection and safety, you cast your pearls, bring them into what you have labored years over, and you give them authority and access.
THE KILL
Until then, they sow discord, doubts, fears, accusations, slander, betrayal, and completely take you out.
